Hey guys,
sorry couldn't keep up the talk of uploading the neural and chemical regulation of respiration.
But for the time being, I am uploading the structural properties of lung and its respiratory and nonrespiratory functions.
I think it will take a little more time for the regulatory mechanisms.
Till then, check this out.

Mechanics of breathing
Hello,
Ideally I should have posted this before posting the restrictive and obstructive diseases of the lung, because it forms the basics of working of respiratory system.
But better late than never, today I am posting the details of mechanics of breathing. but this mechanics in turn is regulated that will be my next post that is the neural and chemical regulation of respiration.
For now, enjoy understanding the compliance and airway resistance.
Would be glad to clarify on certain topics but only if there are any queries
Quote of the day: Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!

obstructive and restrictive diseases
hey,
so thought now should switch to some other topics from endocrinology.
So here i start with one of the most important topics of respiration
That is obstructive and restrictive diseases.
will be putting up some info regrading basic physiology of compliance and airway resistance, as those are one of the most important topics too understand respiratory physiology, though a bit difficult to understand. for now , see how to distinguish between restrictive and obstructive diseases .
feedback and queries will be appreciated
Slide no. 12..............some things to ponder
can you figure out why will there be decreased diffusion capacity in case of restrictive lung diseases?
Take care
